The federal government's energy relief package is in the starting blocks.
But how do consumers get support in the first place?
An overview.
Berlin – German consumers are to receive support from the state on June 1st.
Then the federal government's energy relief package is expected to start.
Because the rising fuel prices, electricity and heating costs are an enormous burden on households in Germany.
For quick help, the traffic light coalition has put together a package that is intended to offer financial support.
Relief Package: These reliefs are included
With these measures, the government wants to relieve the Germans:
One-off energy flat rate of 300 euros gross
Energy tax on fuels will be reduced for three months (petrol price falls by 30 cents per liter, diesel price falls by 14 cents per liter)
9-euro monthly ticket for all local public transport (ÖPNV)
One-off payment for families of 100 euros per child
Additional one-time payments for recipients of social benefits
Energy flat rate: How to get the money
But how do you, as a consumer, actually get these funds or the ticket for public transport?
In fact, this should work without any bureaucracy and without a lot of paperwork.
In any case, only employed persons receive the energy flat-rate.
It should be paid automatically via salary.
The self-employed should receive it through a one-off reduction in their income tax prepayment.
Families who receive child benefit also automatically receive the one-time payment for children.
If you are a recipient of social benefits, you will receive another 100 euros in addition to the 100 euros bonus that was decided earlier.
For example, Hartz IV* recipients receive a total of 200 euros in additional support.
9 euro ticket is only sold online
The 9-euro ticket* will probably only be sold online.
This should reduce the administrative effort.
Those who already have a public transport subscription also benefit from the ticket.
In this case, the costs for the current subscription will either not be debited or will be refunded directly.
The ticket should be valid nationwide for bus and train - also for regional traffic.
However, it will not be valid for the long-distance trains ICE, IC and EC.
