Two people died and twenty were injured in a major fire Thursday, April 21 in a military research institute in Tver, 160 km from Moscow, according to relief, quoted by Russian news agencies.

Russian television broadcast images of thick black smoke rising above the imposing four-story yellow and brown building of the Central Research Institute of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
Probable accidental cause
According to witnesses, quoted by television, several employees of the institute had to jump out of the window of the upper floors to escape the flames which invaded 1000 square meters of surface.

Two people were killed in the fire, and 20 others were injured
," said a source in the emergency services, quoted by Russian news agencies.
Seven injured were hospitalized, including three in intensive care, said a spokesman for the Tver regional hospital quoted by the official agency TASS.
According to preliminary information, the fire could be due to the dilapidated electrical wiring of the building, said TASS.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the institute deals in particular with research related to Russian aerospace defense, as well as the development of new anti-aircraft defense systems.
Deadly fires, often due to poor electrical installations or failure to comply with safety standards, remain common in Russia.
