The magistrate calls them to testify as alleged guilty of two crimes of reckless homicide and injuries due to recklessness

The head of the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 4 of Mislata (Valencia) has agreed to summon as investigated the owner and another person in charge of the bouncy castle in which an accident occurred on January 4 that caused the death of two girls of four and eight years old and injured seven other minors, as well as the technical engineer who signed the certificates for the installation of that fairground attraction.

The magistrate has adopted this decision after the investigation opened for two crimes of homicide due to recklessness and injuries due to recklessness, according to sources from the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community.

During the investigation of the case, the head of the court has also summoned the parents of the victims, both of the deceased and of the injured.

Likewise, among other proceedings, it has decided to take statements from various witnesses who witnessed how a gust of wind lifted the bouncy castle and caused the children who played in it to be fired and the police officers who have intervened in the investigation of the event.

In order to adopt this decision, the judge has ordered the report of the Homicide Group of the National Police of Valencia, which concludes that the engineer responsible for checking this and other attractions was not in Mislata, as he stated, but was in Elche ( Alicante), more than 170 kilometers away.

In addition, the agents observed deteriorated ropes in the inflatable, according to a report presented to the court that is investigating these events.

The events occurred on the evening of January 4 when a gust of wind lifted part of the castle, which overturned on the surrounding attractions.

The children who were at that moment in the attraction were fired.

Some, towards the ground, others, towards the mats that were next to it and the last ones were under the canvas of this attraction.

Among those who fell to the ground was an eight-year-old girl who died the next day.

Another of the minor injuries, a four-year-old girl, died five days later.

The regulations indicate that the bouncy castles cannot be in operation if winds of more than 38 kilometers per hour are registered, but that day there was no wind warning.

The attraction, like the rest of the fair, had presented all the administrative documentation in order to the town hall.
