Michaël Turan, sentenced in 2021 alongside the sulphurous businessman Arnaud Mimran for his involvement in the kidnapping of a Swiss financier, was arrested on Wednesday in Val-d'Oise, we learned on Friday April 22 from police and judicial sources, confirming information from the Parisian.

The 26-year-old fugitive was arrested in Saint-Gratien by police officers from the Central Office for the Fight against Organized Crime (OCLCO) and the National Fugitive Search Brigade (BNRF), with the help of of the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI).
In June 2021, absent at the hearing, he was sentenced by default by the Paris Assize Court to eight years in prison, accused of being involved in the kidnapping in 2015 of a wealthy Swiss financier with a view to his extortion.
The Assize Court had issued an arrest warrant against him on June 25, said the judicial source.
“Carbon tax” fraud
In this case, the businessman Arnaud Mimran, known in particular for his involvement in the "
carbon tax
" fraud case , had been sentenced to 13 years' imprisonment, accused of having fomented the kidnapping and forcible confinement.
An appeal of this conviction is pending.

According to Le Parisien, the investigators found Michaël Turan via his companion.
The fugitive lived in an apartment rented under another name and communicated with the latter through a telephone line taken under an assumed name, which was eventually identified and located.
Still according to the daily, he had just financed the purchase of an apartment in Dubai and his partner's account had several hundred thousand euros.
He is also involved in a car theft case linked to drug trafficking in Perpignan which he will have to answer, says Le Parisien.
