Local hero Laura Siegemund missed her third semi-final entry at the tennis tournament in Stuttgart.
The only German quarter-finalist of the clay court event was eliminated on Friday 5:7, 3:6 against the Russian Lyudmila Samsonowa.
This means that the last time a German participant was in the top four was in 2017.
