"Death March": This is the name given to the march of evacuated concentration camp prisoners in the last days of the war in a southerly direction.
The documentary by Max Kronawitter is now showing in cinemas.

- Among the many things that the pandemic has made impossible is the public broadcast of the death march documentary entitled "When the horror came to the front door", which filmmaker Max Kronawitter shot.
Actually, the Eurasburger had planned to show the film last year at the very places through which the death march of the Dachau concentration camp prisoners came in the last days of the war in 1945, from Dachau via the Würmtal and Wolfratshausen to Waakirchen.

But that turned out to be impractical.
So the premiere had to take place on the Internet.
At the end of April, Kronawitter showed a shortened version, which was well received.
Now nothing stands in the way of a broadcast.
"We are delighted that we can now show the long version to commemorate the 77th anniversary," says the filmmaker.
In the meantime, further interviews were conducted, which were included in the film.
The performance dates in the district with an introduction by the director are on Wednesday, April 27th, at 7:30 p.m. in the Wolfratshausen cinema (reservations by calling 0 81 71/2 11 05) and on Friday, April 29th, in the community center in Degerndorf (7 p.m ).
