When the seniors realized they were being scammed, the gangsters tricked them.
Hamburg – Two pensioners were cheated by fake police officers for money and jewelry worth around 60,000 euros and then tricked the perpetrators and had them arrested.
The alleged police officers had phoned the 81-year-old and his 83-year-old acquaintance as police officers on Tuesday and spoke of indications of an impending break-in in the Hamburg house, as the Hamburg police announced on Friday.
They offered the seniors permission to hand over money and valuables to the police for safekeeping.
The pensioners complied and gave the fraudsters jewelry and cash worth around 60,000 euros.
