Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with the permanent members of the Russian National Security Council issues of cooperation in the countries of the former Soviet Union.
Putin said during today's council meeting: We will consider issues of cooperation with our closest neighbors in the post-Soviet space and how work is developing in this field, especially on the economic track.
Putin pointed out that these issues are being dealt with through the Russian government, under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overshuk.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev, Head of the Presidential Administration Anton Vaino, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev and Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov The head of the foreign intelligence service, Sergey Naryshkin, and the presidential special representative for environmental protection and transportation, Sergey Ivanov.
