In Vénissieux, on the communist lands of mayor Michèle Picard, herself several times a candidate in this constituency, Taha Bouhafs could face the outgoing Yves Blein, a former PS who has become a walker, if the latter were to decide to run again.
In the first round of the presidential election, Jean-Luc Mélenchon obtained more than 40% of the votes against less than 3% for the PCF Fabien Roussel and more than 20% for Emmanuel Macron.
