The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that life has begun to return to normal in the city of Mariupol, indicating that residents can move freely in the city.

"The situation in Mariupol has returned to normal and residents can move freely on the streets without hiding from the bombing of the Ukrainian Nazis," said Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov today.

He added that humanitarian aid is being transferred to Mariupol, including food, water and basic supplies, and that the authorities of the Donetsk People's Republic are cleaning the streets of destroyed Ukrainian military equipment.

Konashenkov said, "Attempts by the US State Department spokesman to spread familiar lies about the Nazi scum maintaining control over Mariupol are a lie and direct aid to terrorists at the state level... The US State Department, as usual, misleads its citizens and all others as well."

He added, "Washington is interested in Ukraine and its residents in Mariupol and other cities only in terms of revenue from exporting weapons there and fighting Russia until the last Ukrainian."

Konashenkov emphasized that "all remnants of Ukrainian Nazis from Azov and mercenaries from the United States are trapped in the Azov Staal plant."

Konashenkov said that "the Nazis are ignoring our demands to release the women and children who are allegedly there and let them go out in any direction," adding that "their holding of civilian hostages, if they are actually there, indicates that they are terrorists, not protectors."
