Four people were injured in a shooting in the US capital, Washington.
Reuters quoted US police as saying that a gunman opened fire indiscriminately from an upper-floor window in a Washington apartment building, wounding four people.
Police indicated that the gunman, Raymond Spencer, committed suicide at a later time, after police officers stormed his residence to arrest him.
The motives for the shooting, which took place along a busy street that also includes many foreign embassies, are not yet known.
And three people were killed in another shooting incident earlier today near the University of the District of Columbia, northwest of Washington.
The two new incidents are added to the frequent shooting incidents in the United States, with the expectation of many victims, which observers attribute to the ease of possession of individual weapons in the country and to the tendency of American society more and more towards violence and extremism.
