A 19-month-old baby girl was found unconscious on a bed in a separate room on King's Road in North Point yesterday (23rd) night, with scars on her neck. She was confirmed dead at the scene, and her 24-year-old mother was sent to hospital awake.
Officers from the Police Serious Crimes Unit and Forensic Division arrived at the scene to investigate and collect evidence. They found suicide notes and duct tapes. It was suspected that the baby girl had been strangled to death. The case was classified as a homicide early this morning and the mother was arrested.
A middle-aged woman was also brought back to the police station by the police at the scene for investigation.

The baby girl's body was taken to the mortuary at 3:00 a.m. by a worker, pending confirmation of the cause of death.
