2022-04-23T11:45:18.368Z

Le Parisien has compiled, by theme, the programs of the two qualified candidates for the second round of the presidential election.

Europe, environment, Ukraine, immigration… Many are the themes on which Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen have distant, even opposing programs.

And during these two weeks between the two rounds, the two qualified in the second round of the presidential election never ceased to cultivate their differences.

During the many trips they made, they fought at a distance, criticizing the proposals of one and the other sometimes on purchasing power, sometimes on the wearing of the veil, sometimes on pensions.

On Wednesday evening, Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen even confronted their points of view for more than 2h30, during the debate between the two rounds.

Le Parisien has listed what the two finalists offer on several everyday topics.

The programs of Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen on the RSA

The cleavage between the two finalists is clear on social benefits, particularly on the RSA (active solidarity income) which reveals two doctrines.

Emmanuel Macron conditions him to active steps to find a job, Marine Le Pen to French nationality, as she does for family allowances.

Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen's programs on euthanasia

This is a societal question that regularly comes to the fore: what end of life do we offer?

If the RN candidate has completely closed the door to euthanasia and assisted suicide, the outgoing president takes refuge behind the desire to launch a citizens' convention on the subject.

Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen's programs on immigration

Marine Le Pen said it bluntly: she wants to put an end to family reunification – or at least limit it very strongly – which she considers to be one of the “main causes of mass immigration”.

Emmanuel Macron, for his part, proposes better control of immigration by strengthening European and national borders.

Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen's programs on wearing the veil

This is a subject that came up several times during the inter-rounds.

And this is one of the markers of differentiation between the two candidates.

Marine Le Pen wants to ban the veil in public space, but not Emmanuel Macron.

The programs of Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen on the bac

If they have sometimes similar ideas in terms of education, such as the early orientation of students, Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen oppose each other on the baccalaureate.

The second wants to repeal the reform put in place by the first, by returning to traditional sectors (S, ES and L).

Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen's programs on Schengen and Europe

Marine Le Pen wants to renegotiate the Schengen agreements in order to reinstate border controls, while providing for "simplified crossing procedures for citizens of European Union states".

Emmanuel Macron proposes him, a better control of the borders, without touching Schengen.

The programs of Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen on purchasing power

Purchasing power is undoubtedly one of the subjects on which Marine Le Pen placed the most emphasis during the campaign between the two rounds.

Value added tax is at the heart of the debates.

The RN candidate wants to plan it (or even remove it from certain basic necessities, subject to conditions), but there is no question of touching it for Emmanuel Macron, who prefers freezing electricity and gas prices, as well as a food check.

Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen's programs on wind turbines

Should wind turbines be destroyed or, on the contrary, should more be built?

On this subject, the strategies are totally different between the two qualified candidates for the second round of the presidential election.

Marine Le Pen opts for a gradual dismantling of all facilities while Emmanuel Macron wants to install 50 parks at sea and double the capacity of onshore wind power.

Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen's programs on energy

In addition to the issue of wind power, the energy future of France has been invited into the countryside, in particular because of the war in Ukraine and dependence on Russian gas.

Nuclear, European electricity market, sobriety… The two qualified for the second round of the presidential election have very different visions.

Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen's programs on pensions

The subject is necessarily at the heart of the campaign.

The candidate president wants to gradually raise the retirement age to 64 or 65, ensuring, in between rounds, to be ready to “move” on the reform he wishes to put in place.

The RN candidate rather plays the status quo at 62 and opens retirement at 60 for those who started working before the age of 20.

What already exists.

This Sunday, therefore, two very different visions will compete at the polls.

"This election is a referendum for or against the European Union, for or against ecology, for or against what we are deeply", had summed up Emmanuel Macron at the end of the debate between the two rounds, while Marine Le Pen judged, this Friday, that the choice was simple: "it's Macron or France".
