The Russian Defense Ministry announced that the Ukrainian forces are preparing to carry out fabricated provocations using chemical agents in Yuzhny, in the Odessa port region, on the eve of Easter, with the aim of accusing the Russian army of doing so.
"According to reliable information, Kyiv is preparing for these provocations to discredit the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate on the eve of Easter," the head of the Russian National Defense Administration Center, Lieutenant-General Mikhail Mezintsev, said in a press briefing today.
"The bishops of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church received recommendations from the office of Vladimir Zelensky on the night of April 23-24 not to hold traditional Easter celebrations and to replace them with Internet broadcasts," Mizintsev added.
"These notifications were not sent to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate for the organization of a mass gathering of believers in churches," Mizintsev added.
Mizintsev explained that the expected provocative actions take place against the background of the campaign launched by the Kyiv regime in the Ukrainian media to accuse Russia of allegedly launching missile attacks on religious sites.
Earlier today, the commander of the radiological, chemical and biological defense forces of the Russian army, Igor Kirillov, revealed information to the Russian Ministry of Defense about the preparation of provocations by the United States with the aim of accusing the Russian forces, explaining that this plan was developed and represented a response to the successes achieved by Russia in its special military operation to protect Donbass .
