The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that the United States is preparing provocations using chemical, biological or nuclear weapons in Ukraine with the aim of blaming Russian forces for this.

The commander of the radiological, chemical and biological defense forces of the Russian army, Igor Kirillov, said in a briefing today: “The Russian Ministry of Defense has information about the preparation of provocations by the United States with the aim of accusing the Russian armed forces. Donbass".

Kirilov referred to the provocative statements that came regularly in March and April of this year by leaders of Western countries regarding the danger of Russia's use of weapons of mass destruction, pointing out that "the United States has more than once implemented such projects to achieve political ends."

The Russian general stressed that the most prominent example of this goes back to the speech delivered by former US Secretary of State Colin Powell to the UN Security Council on February 5, 2003, recalling that “a bottle full of washing powder in his hand was used as a pretext to invade Iraq and caused the deaths of about half a million people.”

Kirillov said that the United States is currently considering three scenarios for the alleged potential provocation: a "false flag play" with the actual use of chemical and biological weapons with civilian casualties, or the fabrication of a sabotage operation by Russia at Ukrainian sites engaged in the production of components for weapons of mass destruction. This scenario is in chemical and biological sites in the capital, Kyiv, and the second largest city of Ukraine, Kharkov. It is also not excluded that a provocation is planned at nuclear sites, primarily the Zaporozhye nuclear plant, which is under the control of Russian forces.”

Kirillov explained that on April 21, the Russian National Guard stopped at a checkpoint and returned to Zaropozhya a convoy that was on its way to the station with a dangerous shipment, noting that the Kyiv government is seriously considering the possibility of launching strikes on a warehouse of radioactive waste in the city of Kamenskoye in the Dnepropetrovsk region, where the Russian Ministry of Defense obtained a document It confirms that the warehouses there are in critical condition and indicates the misuse of funds allocated by the European Union to Kyiv for the maintenance of this site.

Kirillov said that the second scenario is the use of weapons of mass destruction on a limited scale with the highest degree of secrecy, and it is likely that this scenario may be applied with the aim of discouraging the Russian forces and undermining their ability to resist in carrying out a specific practical mission, explaining that this option was supposed to be applied in the Azovstal steel factory, another stronghold. Forces loyal to the Kyiv government in the city of Mariupol, but the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin not to storm this site thwarted the plans of the Pentagon in this regard.

Regarding the third scenario, Kirillov said that it includes the blatant use of weapons of mass destruction in the battlefield, which is the least likely scenario from Moscow's point of view, adding that Washington may resort to it in the combat zone most likely in the event that the Kyiv government is unable to achieve success with the types of conventional weapons in the cities of Slaviansk and Kramatorsk, which They were converted into two castles.

Kirillov stated that Moscow has information about the transfer of antidotes to Ukraine by the United States, which indicates the high risk of the use of chemical weapons there. Systematic management of provocations using toxic nerve agents.

Kirillov stressed that the fabricated plays produced by the Ukrainian leadership about the use of weapons of mass destruction aim to accuse Russia of using prohibited types of weapons in order to impose economic and political isolation on it and to disqualify international organizations, including the UN Security Council, in addition to exerting pressure on countries friendly to the Russian Federation, including India and China, and forcing it. to impose sanctions on Russia.

He added that the provocations associated with the use of weapons of mass destruction also aim to pursue all those involved in this alleged use through the mechanism of the International Court of Justice and to impose a comprehensive ban on the import of Russian fuel carriers, recalling that the Russian Federation completely got rid of all chemical arsenals on September 27, 2017, and this is what Proved by the documents of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

On the other hand, Kirillov revealed that on April 21 a Ukrainian drone had dropped a container of ampoules on the Russian forces, pointing out that when it was destroyed, a chemical reaction was planned that would cause an explosion and fire with the release of toxic substances not included in the lists included in the agreements.

According to him, the contents of the ampoules are chemically analyzed in Laboratory 27 of the Scientific Center of the Russian Ministry of Defense accredited by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, and the results of the analysis will be sent to its technical secretariat in accordance with the established procedures.
