For two years you had to do without the well-known Königsdorf carnival.

The new board wants to attack again in 2023.

Königsdorf

– Two years with almost no events have hardly left any traces at the Kinschdarfer Maschkara, the Königsdorf carnival society.

"Our membership is stable at almost 300. We are all looking forward to the next season," said the re-elected chairman Hans Köglsperger at the annual meeting in the Posthotel Hofherr.

After all, a carnival newspaper was possible

Since 1986, the club's fools have alternated between a carnival market and a carnival procession on the main street every year.

The last market took place in 2020, just before the outbreak of the Corona pandemic.

Last year, the board of directors published a carnival newspaper.

"We did them together via zoom meetings," reported Köglsperger.

Although not much was going on because of the lockdowns, some topics were found and prepared in a funny way.

The newspaper was very well received by the people of Königsdorf.

600 copies were sold.

The club is in good financial shape

This year, the club members celebrated the fifth season only in a very small circle.

The Maschkera are all the hotter for the 2022/23 season, which hopefully will not fall victim to another corona wave.

There will be another train in 2023.

The board of directors had already bought material for the self-built cars for 2021, not knowing that the high incidence would thwart their plans.

With 27,000 euros in the treasury, a good 300 euros more than in the previous year, the association is on solid financial footing, reported treasurer Josef Wametsberger.

Mayor Rainer Kopnicky said in his function as cash auditor that the helpers who set up and dismantled the carnival market and parade should continue to be appropriately remunerated in the future.

"It's very important that people stick around.

Our club isn't out to make a profit, so we can be generous." Another club outing is planned for this year or next.

The new elections resulted in no change.

Hans Köglsperger will remain head of Kinschdarfer Maschkera for another three years.

Thomas Bauer was elected as his deputy, Sepp Wametsberger as treasurer, Claudia Schermann as his deputy, Monika Köglsperger as secretary and Herbert Dittmann as her deputy.
