Starnberg-Leutstetten - An unknown person grabs the center console of a parked convertible in Leutstetten and steals an expensive smartphone.
A day later, the owner makes a discovery.
On Thursday between 4.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. a smartphone was stolen from a convertible with the top open on Altostrasse in Starnberg-Leutstetten.
The IPhone 13 with a transparent case has a current value of around 800 euros.
Smartphone is located near Gautinger Straße
Using the manufacturer's search function, the mobile phone was located the following day in the forest area behind Gautinger Strasse.
The search by the owner was unsuccessful and he filed a complaint with the Starnberg police.
Thief puts the smartphone in the mailbox
It can be assumed that the perpetrator got cold feet because the mobile phone was found in the mailbox of the 56-year-old victim a few hours later, the police reported in a press release.
The Starnberg police are asking for information about the crime by calling 08151/364-0 or using the contact form on the Bavarian Police website www.polizei.bayern.de
