"This is a stupid policy. The state is just dumb and you see who it is harming," says Ofer Lieberman, director of agriculture at Kibbutz Nir Am in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council area.
In a conversation with Israel Today, the veteran farmer explains how preventing entry from the Gaza Strip into Israel punishes not only the simple Palestinian worker who wants to make a living, but also the enveloping farmer who suffers a double blow.
"I get knocked twice, and one more time I also take a bonus," Lieberman says, "I am specifically partially hurt because most of the Palestinians who work for me have not returned to Gaza. They know there is a mess, and have stayed. "They do not bring in, but who language - here, and I still lack workers and I have nowhere to bring because they did not enter anymore."
As for the Palestinians themselves, Lieberman notes that "they do not deal with what is happening at all, just let them earn a decent living, work quietly. The immediate circle and the family do not cause problems, because it works. "
On the other hand, he said, "When you do not put workers to work, you put more people into a feeling of nervousness towards Israel - and also harm farmers. We are always the first to be harmed."
