Munich/Paris – After the first round of the 2022 presidential election in France did not produce a winner, the run-off election is due on Sunday (April 24).
More than 48 million French are again called upon to elect their new President.
The candidates who received the most votes in the first round on April 10 will compete.

France Election 2022: Where to Watch Presidential Election Live on TV and Live Stream
In the run-off election in France, Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen exchanged blows for the second time since 2017. The incumbent French President is the favorite in the decisive phase of the presidential election.
With 27.8 percent, Macron got the most votes in the first ballot.
In addition, he is about 55 percent ahead of Le Pen in polls. Nevertheless, the lead is narrower than in 2017 and a directional decision for France and Europe is emerging.
The French elections are entering the decisive phase.

France election 2022: The runoff between Macron and Le Pen
Pre-election polls and forecasts see Emmanuel Macron at an advantage.
However, the decision will not be made until election Sunday.
The first projections and results can be expected on Sunday evening.
The result will be available on Monday morning (April 25), but it still has to be confirmed by the French Constitutional Council.
