About two weeks ago, the prosecution filed an indictment against Miriam Yomtobian, 50, director of a clinic of the Leumit Health Fund in Jerusalem, on suspicion of stealing credit information from the fund's customers.
According to the charges, she carried out about 450 transactions for a total of over NIS 60,000 using credit cards of patients at the branch.
"This is how she paid her and her family's HMO payments, including surgeries and valuable treatments," the indictment said.
"In addition, the defendant made many transactions for the payment of services or for the purchase of products such as gas, electricity, water, computer services and more."
The indictment attributes to her offenses of receiving anything fraudulently under aggravated circumstances, infiltrating computer material to commit another offense and using an essential component of a means of payment with intent to defraud.
