A young Jericho resident was arrested near the border fence on suspicion of smuggling the guns, with cash worth NIS 380,000 in his possession.
In recent months, six such smuggling attempts have failed, and 169 weapons have been seized.

About two weeks ago, an indictment was filed against three northern residents who smuggled weapons and drugs from Lebanon.
The three authorities seized 61 weapons, including three M-16 rifles, and 58 Glock pistols, as well as half a kilogram of heroin. They were arrested after colliding with a police car and injuring a police officer.
