IDF and police forces have stopped an attempt to smuggle 24 pistols worth an estimated NIS 1 million, the weapons were reported this morning (Monday).



The weapons were seized in a joint ambush by the forces near Moshav Argaman in the Jordan Valley A 29-year-old man was arrested on the spot with cash worth NIS 380,000 in his possession.

The police's Border Unit (HJL) has arrested since the beginning of the year, six attempted smuggling attempts, in which 169 weapons were seized.

About two weeks ago, an indictment was filed against three northern residents who smuggled weapons and drugs from Lebanon.

The three authorities seized 61 weapons, including three M-16 rifles, and 58 Glock pistols, as well as half a kilogram of heroin. They were arrested after colliding with a police car and injuring a police officer.
