Alte Post in Murnau: Search for tenants unsuccessful so far

The Murnau market is still looking for tenants for the old post office building.

Because so far no suitable offer has been received.

Social officer Felix Burger (SPD) complains that the municipal councils are not sufficiently informed.

– The Murnau post office building and above all its future use is a topic that council member Felix Burger (SPD) is working on intensively.

He estimates that he has spent 300 to 400 hours on it so far.

In the March meeting, the municipal councilor's social affairs officer spoke up and pointed out that the report on the structural condition had been available for two months.

Burger added that he would be happy if the committee received more information at the next meeting.

Mayor Rolf Beuting (ÖDP/Bürgerforum) promised that the committee would soon receive a progress report.

Now the next meeting of the representatives of the people is approaching.

But the old post office, owned by the market town, is not on the agenda on Thursday April 28.

Old post office building: Municipality is silent on the number of applicants

Initially, an interim use of the building is planned, which was built in 1923 and is a listed building.

The Murnau market published a "rental exposé" on its website.

The rental can start on June 1, 2022, it says.

However, according to city hall spokeswoman Annika Röttinger, the search is still ongoing, so "rental start on June 1 is rather unlikely".

Interested parties had until March 21 to submit offers.

However, the municipality published a new ad on Immobilienscout24 "because no suitable offer was received".

The municipality is silent on the number of applicants.

The Murnau market also does not want to disclose details of the report.

First of all, the municipal councils should be informed.

Röttinger only says: "The report showed that the post office building is in need of renovation." Are there parts that are in a particularly bad condition?

What needs to be repaired first?

Are there any surprising findings in the report?

The municipality is also silent on this.

The condition of the building is said to be "better than expected"

According to Burger, he has learned that the condition of the property is "better than expected".

Regardless, he is disappointed for a number of reasons.

On the one hand, he complains that the municipal councils have not yet been given access to the report, although it has been available since January.

On the other hand, he complains that there is no information on the status of the tenant search for the elected representatives.

He is annoyed that the rental contract for the rooms should be limited to two years.

This was not discussed in the council.

Rather, it was said that the rooms should be terminable on a quarterly basis.

From Burger's point of view, the administration could have contacted associations and institutions with regard to the temporary use.

Namely those who can imagine later occupying rooms in a community center he proposed.

Incidentally, the mentioned expert opinion was drawn up by TÜV Süd.

According to Röttinger, the costs for this amount to around 8,000 euros net.
