Tanaka was the oldest woman in the world according to the Guinness Book of Records, but the longevity record is still held by Jean-Louis Clement, a French citizen who died in 1997 at the age of 122.

Earlier this year, Tanaka celebrated her birthday with a small celebration at the nursing home where she lives in Poaka province in southeastern Japan.

Due to the corona plague, Tanaka's relatives were unable to attend the event.

Aiji, Tanaka's granddaughter, 62, called Zoom to his grandmother to wish her good health and longevity.

"I hope I can meet her soon. I wish her good health and many days of fun," the grandson said on her 119th birthday.

In 2019 Tanaka was recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest man in the world when she was 117. Tanaka was born in 1903, the seventh of nine brothers and sisters, and ran the family noodle shop when her husband went out to fight the Sino-Japanese War in 1936. Although some people around the world claim They are older than her, Tanaka managed to prove her age beyond any doubt.

Tanaka was the seventh of nine brothers and sisters.

One of her sons was captured by the Americans during World War II and returned home only in 1947. Tanaka won a World Tour, and in 1970 traveled to visit relatives in the state of Colorado in the United States.
