The car supplier Mubea, which is willing to take over, does not get a chance at the Airbus parts production in Varel, Lower Saxony.
The IG Metall trade union announced on Monday that the workforce at Airbus subsidiary Premium Aerotec had decided by an overwhelming majority to remain in the group.
Overall, 74.5 percent of IG Metall members in Varel voted to remain.
Varel/Hamburg - "We have always made it clear that we will follow this vote, that is democracy in action," said the north German district manager and chief negotiator of IG Metall, Daniel Friedrich.
In the event of a stay, Airbus and the union have reportedly agreed on a restructuring, a minimum employment of 1000 full-time positions and a further development of the work content in Varel.
"The agreement secures the future of Varel until 2030.
It's good that everyone involved now has clarity," said Friedrich.

The company Muhr und Bender (Mubea) from Attendorn, Sauerland, is a lightweight construction specialist with a turnover of 2.5 billion euros, primarily supplying the automotive industry, but is also active in the aviation sector with its subsidiary Flamm and has been one of the Airbus suppliers for years.
Mubea also expects growth potential from deals with other aircraft manufacturers.
