2022-04-25T12:52:07.680Z

Participation, blank vote, reservoir of votes... The editorial staff of Yvelines du Parisien deciphers the second round of the presidential election in

Macronist lands par excellence, the Yvelines have placed the outgoing president in the lead almost everywhere.

Emmanuel Macron thus obtained 71.05% of the votes in the department, against 28.95% for Marine Le Pen.

Although this score is significantly higher than at the national level, it is nevertheless down compared to 2017 (77.15%).

Scires of the two candidates, participation, blank vote… Here are the ten figures to remember from this second round in the Yvelines

81.2%

This is the highest score recorded in the department by Emmanuel Macron,

in Croissy-sur-Seine, a town of 10,000 inhabitants.

A town where the poverty rate is only 5% and where the median income per household is nearly twice as high as the national average.

We are approaching the same levels in other wealthy municipalities in the department: 80% in Vésinet and Viroflay, 79% in Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche, around 78% in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Chatou, Viroflay or even Maisons-Laffitte… But also in working-class neighborhoods.

28

This is the number of municipalities that placed Marine Le Pen in the lead

in the second round in the Yvelines.

Particularly in the very small villages of Flacourt (61%) and Guitrancourt (58.3%).

As here, it is in the small towns near Mantes-la-Jolie that the candidate of the National Rally has the most seduced in the second round.

It is in the lead at Follainville-Dennemont, Méricourt, Mousseaux, Guernes and even at Bonnières-sur-Seine.

Of the 27 municipalities, 23 are located in the northwest of Yvelines, the other four are in the south of the department.

40

This is the number of people registered on the lists of Tartre-Gaudran

, the smallest town in the department.

Or more than inhabitants, who number 36. Quite simply because of Parisian families having a foothold here, on the edge of Eure-et-Loir, but having decided to vote there.

A village that voted 59.4% for Emmanuel Macron.

In total, 960,000 voters were called to vote in Yvelines for this presidential election.

That's 10,000 more than five years ago.

28,452

This is the number of Versailles who have placed their trust in Emmanuel Macron

for this second round.

This makes the city the largest reservoir of votes for the outgoing president in the Yvelines.

This is slightly less than in 2017 (30,427).

The royal city being very populated, it is also – logically – the one which gave the most votes to Marine Le Pen in the Yvelines (12,591, against 9,530 in 2017).

In the end, the ratio in the 42 polling stations in the city on Sunday was 69-31% in favor of the candidate LREM.

which is close to the county average.

44.47%

This is the sad departmental abstention record, achieved in Les Mureaux,

up ten points from the first round.

A trend that is observed in the same proportions in Mantes-la-Jolie (42%) and Chanteloup-les-Vignes (41%).

Popular cities which had voted for Jean-Luc Mélenchon (LFI) in the first round.

And who were divided between abstention and useful vote.

"Le Pen, she is fixated on us Muslims, she had to be stopped," said Farid, monitor at Stellantis (ex-PSA) crossed in the city of Musicians at Les Mureaux.

“We had to be mobilized and we all gave each other the word”, underlines Khalil, a 26-year-old professional boxer, who was voting for the first time.

40,932

This number of blank votes is lower than in 2017

(57,527) but considerably higher than in the first round (9,601).

An increase in the blank vote that we observe in particular in Trappes, which went from 125 blank votes on April 10 to 597 for the second round.

That is almost 8% of voters, a stable figure over five years.

At Tertre-Saint-Denis, the blank vote is even 12.66%… That is ten votes.

If in the first commune, it turned to the advantage of Emmanuel Macron, in the second, it was his opponent who came out on top.

92.11%

This is the participation recorded in Gambaiseuil.

The 63 registered voters of this village located not far from Houdan and La Queue-lez-Yvelines massively went to the polls, more than in any other municipality of the department.

And their vote was decided: they largely preferred Emmanuel Macron (73.47%) on Sunday.

A bit like in the first round, on April 10, where local voters placed the outgoing president in the lead at 52.73%.

50/50

Neither Macron nor Le Pen in Drocourt?

Rather both.

Among the 2,950 inhabitants of this village of Vexin, on the edge of Val-d'Oise, the votes are perfectly divided since Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen each collected 136 votes of the votes cast for this second round.

In the first round, the candidate of the National Rally came first (30.13%) and ahead of the re-elected president (23.83%).

In 2017, Drocourt had finally given the advantage to Emmanuel Macron (54.85%).

0.03%

The difference with the national average is minimal in Villette.

With 58.51% of the vote for Emmanuel Macron, the inhabitants of this village (439 registered voters) almost voted like the French.

It is in any case in this town south of Mantes that the re-elected president came closest to his final national result (58.54%), if we stick to the only department of Yvelines.

Villette also showed himself to be a better citizen than the French as a whole with only 21.41% (94 voters) of abstention against 28.01% for the country.

The mysterious voter of Mylène Farmer from Verneuil-sur-Seine struck again

by slipping a ballot in the name of the famous singer.

A habit in office no. 2, located at the La Garenne school, since 2017. “This was already the case during the last departmental, municipal, European elections and even during the 2017 presidential election, specifies Fabien Aufrechter, the mayor (LREM).

We are trying to find out who is behind this bulletin, in vain for the moment.

But if it can be used as a call for her to come and sing in Verneuil, I'm in… ”In the end, this non-compliant vote is part of the 11,378 invalid ballots recorded in the department (1.18%) during this second round.
