The Russian army announced a temporary cessation of hostilities today in the city of Mariupol to evacuate civilians who the Ukrainian regime said were inside the Azovstal plant.

The head of the National Defense Management Center, Lieutenant-General Mikhail Mizintsev, said that the Russian leadership confirms once again the continuation of the work of the humanitarian corridor, which has been open around the clock since the 21st of last March to evacuate civilians whose presence the Kyiv government says are inside the Azovstal factory, the last stronghold of the Ukrainian forces and Nazi battalions. in the city.

Mezintsev added, "Only guided by humanitarian principles, the Russian Armed Forces and the forces of the Donetsk People's Republic, from two o'clock in the afternoon, unilaterally suspend all hostilities, withdraw their units to a safe distance and work to ensure the exit of citizens in any direction they choose."

Mizintsev called on the Ukrainian side to confirm its readiness to start the humanitarian operation by raising white flags along the area of ​​the Azovstal factory or in specific directions, stressing that there are no obstacles to the exit of civilians from Azovstal, except for the initial decision taken by the Kyiv authorities and leaders of national formations to continue detaining civilians as human shields. .

Mizintsev asked the Kyiv regime in the event that civilians were present inside the factory, to immediately issue orders to the leaders of the ultra-nationalist formations to release them.

Mizintsev stated that the Russian side will inform the besieged Ukrainian forces inside Azovstal of this statement via radio channels every 30 minutes, stressing also that this statement will be delivered to the Kyiv regime through Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshuk.
