To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Hong Kong Sailing Federation (HKSF) announced that it will host the first cross-regional regatta, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region 25th Anniversary Return Regatta (HKSAR 25ASC).
With the strong support of the three major yacht clubs in Hong Kong - Aberdeen Yacht Club (ABC), White Sand Cove Yacht Club (HHYC), and Hong Kong Yacht Club (RHKYC), the 25th Anniversary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Return Regatta will span across Victoria Harbour, In the Southern District and Sai Kung District of Hong Kong Island, thousands of people will be able to watch the event.
In order to enhance the representativeness of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, individual sailboats or teams must choose any one of the 18 districts in Hong Kong as the representative area.
The association stated that the competition will be free of entry fee and souvenirs will be given.

In order to continue the festive atmosphere of the event, the 25th anniversary of the return of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Regatta will be held on 3 days, namely June 11, June 19 and June 25. It is expected that there will be no less than 120 boats. Sailing and 600 people involved.
The 25th Anniversary Return Regatta will be raced in three different regions:
Session 1: 11 June 2022 (Saturday) – Victoria Harbour (RHKYC)
Session 2: 19 June 2022 (Sunday) – Hong Kong Island South (ABC)
Session 3: 25 June 2022 (Saturday) – Sai Kung District (HHYC)
