A large number of citizens watched fish on the banks of the Tuen Mun River. Some people called them dolphins, while others said they were sunfish.

Neighbor Mr. Lu said that at around 7:50 a.m. today (25th), he saw a suspected shark fin gliding across the Tuen Mun River at the Tuen Mun Swimming Pool and Lung Yat Village.

A boatman approached closer to check and found that it was a shark, and even more "a few big ones." Mr. Lu bluntly said that for the first time in decades, he saw a big fish in the Tuen Mun River, and was surprised, "Is there any shark in this river?"

The police received a report of the killing at 8:10 a.m., saying that an adult shark was swimming in the Tuen Mun River. No one was injured and no property was damaged.

The police went to investigate, believing that the big fish was a dolphin, and judging that the water depth was enough for the dolphin to return to the sea, and classified the case as "animal found".

In fact, Lung Kwu Tan in Tuen Mun is a haunt of Chinese white dolphins, which is recommended by the website of the Hong Kong Tourism Board.

Shark stalking is not uncommon in the waters around Tuen Mun. In June 2020, a shark was found at Tuen Mun Golden Beach and had to be closed with a red flag. The next day, a nearly half-meter-long shark carcass floated and sank on the sea.

The abdomen of the corpse exploded, and the internal organs were exposed, but the body was not corrupted.
