Chancellor Olaf Scholz has now been sharply criticized by the coalition partners for his hesitant action in connection with the arms deliveries to Ukraine.

Berlin - Chancellor Olaf Scholz is currently receiving a lot of criticism from the opposition for his policy in connection with the Ukraine war.

Now politicians in the coalition are increasingly criticizing the chancellor.

In previously published excerpts from a ZDF “Berlin direct” interview, the FDP top politician Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann complained

Scholz's politics.

She makes some statements that sound like demands for resignation: “We have to lead.

Not only economically, but also militarily.

And for those who do not want to take on this role, I say, you may be in the wrong place at the wrong moment.”

The Chair of the Defense Committee did not address these statements directly to Scholz in the interview, but only the Chancellor can be meant.

The ZDF itself reported that Strack-Zimmermann massively criticized Olaf Scholz in the interview.

One must continue to pursue the chancellorship, although there is no more time.

Scholz's actions are determined by "discouragement".

"I think the chancellor's office thought it wouldn't be that bad.

The others do it, we take cover for a bit and then it works.”

On Twitter, however, she classified her quote again.

In a post by "ZDF today" that included the statement "FDP politician Strack-Zimmermann indirectly calls for Scholz's resignation in the ZDF interview," she wrote: "This spin is nonsense.

The traffic light is the right government at the right time - not only in view of the lack of alternatives."

Ukraine politics: Strack-Zimmermann overwhelms Scholz with criticism

Strack-Zimmermann also pointed out in the interview that the debate about hesitant action regarding the delivery of heavy weapons to Ukraine would overshadow the support Germany had provided so far.

Strack-Zimmermann says in the ZDF interview: "To stay with the image, we have such jamming that abroad even what we have delivered is not appreciated."

Strack-Zimmermann has been putting pressure on the chancellery for days.

Three days ago, she wrote on Twitter that she did not see herself as an adversary: "Personally, I appreciate Olaf Scholz, I'm looking for internal discussions." However, she demands "a clear edge" from the leadership.

She couldn't understand why "communication and action are so unclear".

With regard to Ukraine, no time should be wasted, especially at the moment.

The statements she made in the “Berlin direct” interview now reinforce this criticism many times over.

Scholz in dispute with his coalition: "war tourism"

The dispute between Strack-Zimmermann and Scholz has existed for a long time.

Strack-Zimmermann went to Ukraine together with parliamentary colleague Anton Hofreiter (Greens) and Michael Roth (SPD).

Olaf Scholz had commented on this: He had addressed them as "boys and girls" in a derogatory way, who had met with members of the Ukrainian parliament in Lviv in mid-April.

Various media have reported that this trip was referred to as "war tourism" in the Chancellery.
