The former president of Honduras Juan Orlando Hernández appeared virtually this Friday before a federal court in New York, after being extradited in a spectacular operation deployed by the Honduran Police.
Mike Vigil, former director of International Operations for the DEA, says there is evidence that could link him to a life sentence.
In a conversation with Carmen Aristegui, Vigil maintains that in the trial there is evidence that his campaign received money from Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, which could be used against him in the coming months.
Through his attorney, Hernandez waived the right to an arraignment against him in New York.
Before being extradited, Hernández reiterated his innocence and said he had been subjected to a process "unfairly."
