Of course, it's never too early to start preparing and writing your wish list for the big sale.

Read on to learn what we know about Prime Day 2022 so far and what you can do now to make sure you're ready when prices finally drop.

What is PrimeDay?

Prime Day is Amazon's annual sale event exclusively for Prime members.

Usually features a day or two of special savings on thousands of items across all product categories.

When is Prime Day 2022?

Amazon has yet to announce specific dates for Prime Day, though it will most likely return to its usual July date for this year's event.

Last year, Prime Day lasted two days, and this year's event is likely to last two days as well.

In previous years, Prime Day took place in July, but the sale was delayed in 2020 due to the pandemic and took place in October.

In 2021, Prime Day was celebrated at the end of June, returning to its usual summer hours.

How to prepare for Prime Day

First things first: make sure you have an Amazon Prime membership.

You can sign up for a 30-day free trial here.

In addition to fast, free two-day shipping, you'll also get access to Prime Video's ad-free music streaming, unlimited photo storage, and unlimited reading.

Many of the best Prime Day deals, including Flash Deals (we'll get to that in a second), are only available to Prime members.

Once your membership is complete, you should also take some time to make sure your payment methods, including 1-click setup and default delivery, are up to date so you can get the deals you want in a timely manner.

What are the best Prime Day deals?

Amazon hasn't officially announced any specific deals, but last year we saw discounts running the gamut from electronics and major appliances to small household items.

We expect similar products to be on sale this year.

Keep an eye out for deals on Amazon devices, including Fire tablets and TV streaming sticks, Echo and Kindle smart speakers.

There are also some deals on Apple products;

smart TVs;

Games and toys;

smart home products, including home security and smart lights;

vacuum cleaners, including Dyson and Roomba;

Instant Pots and other kitchen essentials;

and clothing from top brands like Adidas and Calvin Klein—to name just a few categories.

Retailers with competing sales on Prime Day

Don't forget: Amazon Prime Day isn't the only big sale to watch out for.

Other major retailers, including Walmart and Target, are likely to host large competitive events, though these are yet to be announced.

How to find the best Prime Day deals

You'll want to bookmark the Amazon Sale Page, where all the items included in the sale should appear.

Be sure to check early and often for deals on the day.

Prime Day deals have been known to sell out quickly and new ones are likely to be added throughout the event.

You'll also find Amazon's famous Flash Deals on the aforementioned page (you can filter your view so you only see Flash Deals using the panel on the left side of the page).

Finally, be sure to follow CNN Underscored on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and visit our site often.

On Amazon Prime Day (and every other day of the year), we'll be highlighting the best deals throughout the day that you won't want to miss out on.
