The "Long Night of Art" in the Tegernsee Valley is experiencing its second edition in May.

Museums, galleries and studios around Lake Tegernsee open until late in the evening - with free admission and guided tours.

Tegernseer Tal - The premiere last September attracted hundreds of visitors.

Now it's round two: On Friday and Saturday, May 13th and 14th, 2022, a "Long Night of Art" will take place again in the Tegernsee Valley.

Museums, galleries and artist studios around the lake open until late in the evening with free entry.

The admission wristband for visitors, which will be available free of charge from Monday, May 2nd, is also valid as a bus ticket for the RVO circular routes around the lake.

If the major event was postponed to late summer at its premiere due to the corona, this time it should work with the date based on the International Museum Day (May 15).

Under the motto "Light connects", the evening art encounter will be accompanied by illuminations of the E-Werk Tegernsee at the three participating museums.

There are not too many spots in rural areas where artists and cultural workers have worked and still work in such concentrations as in the district of Miesbach and in the Tegernsee valley.

The Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH (TTT) wants to make this variety accessible to a wide audience with the "Long Night", says the municipal tourism organization.

On May 13th and 14th, visitors can visit three museums, which are illuminated in the evening hours, as well as participating galleries and artists' studios - from Dürnbach to Rottach-Egern, all around the lake.

Jagerhaus new – carriage museum has to fit

The museums and galleries have extended opening hours until 10 p.m., some artists open their studios from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Olaf Gulbransson Museum with its permanent exhibition and the special show "Yes so san's" with caricatures by Ernst Hürlimann as well as the Museum Tegernseer Tal with its more than 850 historical exhibits and the extended special exhibition "150 years De Gschicht vom Brandner Kasper" will be there again in Tegernsee. .

Both museums offer guided tours.

The Gmunder Jagerhaus will be there for the first time, taking part this year for the first time with its local history exhibits and also hosting the large GmundArt exhibition by artists from the region during the "Long Night".

Also on board for the first time is the Spa & Resort Bachmair Weissach and its clubhouse in Tegernsee.

The accompanying exhibition by Christian Awe “IKAGAI” takes place in Weissach, and Suse Kohler is showing her paintings in the clubhouse.

In addition, several galleries will be open on both days, and local artists will be able to look over their shoulders at work in their studios.

Not included this time is the carriage museum in the Gsotthaber Hof in Rottach-Egern.
