1. FC Köln player Anthony Modeste caused a stir in the game against Bielefeld because he suddenly held up his coffee for the cameras during the game.

Cologne – Anthony Modeste scored his 17th goal of the season in the 43rd minute of the game between 1. FC Köln and Arminia Bielefeld.

In the sunny RheinEnergie Stadium, the Frenchman hastily runs to the left of the goalpost and a little later holds a white plastic bag up to the TV camera.

The connoisseurs on the screen quickly realize that this is the Anthony Modeste coffee.

1. FC Cologne: Anthony Modeste in the coffee business

As reported by 24RHEIN, Modeste first advertised his side business on his Instagram channel in December last year.

Together with the company "Kaffeesaurus", the Cologne top scorer developed an energetic flavor "to always stay on the ball", as he personally describes his product.

"In addition to football, coffee is a great passion of mine," Modeste also made clear in the corresponding statement.

So it is logical that he has been starting with his own beans for a few months now.

According to Kaffeesaurus, 70 percent of the striker's product comes from Brazil and 30 percent from India.

However, after his unauthorized product placement, Modeste could be asked to pay.

As the DFB announced in a press release on April 24, the incident will be investigated in the current calendar week.

This was confirmed by Dr.

Anton Nachreiner, the chairman of the DFB control committee in the corresponding statement.

Steffen Baumgart also reprimanded his protégé for the action: “I have had the experience that if you overreact, you usually get your face in the face.

I don't want to say more about it." Modeste posts coffee cheers on Instagram

Modeste himself doesn't seem to care much about the fuss about his goal celebration.

On the contrary: the Frenchman proudly uploaded a snapshot of the scene to his Instagram channel and wrote ambiguously: "I like it."

Please just let such nonsense be,” says an annoyed fan.

The negative headlines will probably have little effect on the sales figures for Modeste coffee.

However, it is extremely likely that the 34-year-old will face consequences from the DFB and/or the club.

In 2012, for example, Nicklas Bendtner had to pay a fine of 100,000 euros for a similar offence: the Danish soccer player had advertised an Irish betting company on the waistband of his underpants during an international match.
