278 researchers in all governorates are participating in a training course organized by the Syrian Commission for Family and Population Affairs in cooperation with the Central Bureau of Statistics and the United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF to train on survey forms to prepare a study on the reality of children’s upbringing in most governorates under the supervision of trainers from the Commission and the Central Bureau of Statistics.

The head of the Syrian Commission for Family and Population Affairs, Eng. Samar al-Sibai, indicated to SANA that the study aims to shed light on the upbringing of children within the family and in kindergartens in all aspects, in addition to the relationship of parents with the child, protection and ways of dealing with it, noting that the results of the study will be employed in updating the National Strategy for Childhood. Early Childhood Education, which deals with themes related to health, education, nutrition and social protection.

Al-Sibai explained that the training focused on upbringing, child care, research in the first thousand days of a child's life, and identifying the gaps and challenges that hinder the provision of comprehensive care for this category.

In turn, the Director-General of the Central Statistics Office, Dr. Adnan Humaidan, explained that the socialization survey will be in four stages.. The first is preliminary, which includes training on the form that was prepared in the office with the participation of all those concerned in the social, psychological, educational and educational fields. The second is information gathering, then the stage of data processing, coding, auditing, and announcing the results And tested and finally access to a detailed report on the survey.

Humaidan pointed out that the benefit of the survey is to identify the geographical concentration of children exposed to poor upbringing, study the causes, provide appropriate solutions, identify the gaps and challenges that impede the provision of comprehensive care for this category, focus on methods of care and nursery outside the family, how children are dealt with, and know the need for care homes. and nursery development.

On February 10, the Syrian Commission for Family Affairs and the Central Bureau of Statistics signed a memorandum of understanding to implement two studies, the first on family upbringing and the second on violence against children. According to the memorandum, the Statistics Office undertakes field work to collect samples in various governorates to build on them studies to address existing problems.
