Damascus-SANA

In an atmosphere full of joy and activity, the Charitable Ambulance Orphanage in Damascus today hosted an entertainment event on the occasion of the conclusion of the World Orphan Week, which was held by the Child Culture Directorate in the Ministry of Culture, in an effort to spread joy in the hearts of innocent children to overcome sorrows, start again and work in the spirit of the group.

The event, in which about 110 children participated, included an art exhibition for the children of the drawing and Al-Ajami workshop, various artistic sessions (Shadow’s Imagination and the storyteller), in addition to art workshops and face painting.

The student, Ziad Ammouna, entertained the children with a lyrical musical paragraph for Qudud al-Halabi, with the aim of preserving the intangible Syrian heritage with all its vocabulary and reviving its elements among young people.

The Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mushawah, spoke in a statement about the importance of the cultural events and activities that the Directorate of Child Culture held on the occasion of the International Day of the Orphan in orphanages, as it opens new horizons for children and allows them to learn about various arts through which they reveal their personalities, increase their knowledge and express their opinions in a civilized manner.

In turn, the Director of the Child Culture Directorate, Malak Yassin, indicated that the celebration of the Orphan's Day is the result of the work of children and young people in the Sons of the Sun project, within the program for forming a culture of the child, which has been implemented for a year with the aim of nurturing the talents of orphans to be an ongoing project and not dedicated to a specific day.

It is noteworthy that the activities of Orphan's Day 11 were launched with a central activity in As-Suwayda Governorate on the 20th of April and continued until the 25th of it with parallel celebrations in the directorates of culture and orphanages in the governorates.
