After the wind turbine at the Allianz Arena, more are to follow in the Garchinger Flur.

There are already two at the Allianz Arena and another wind turbine is to be built between Garching and Eching.

That's not enough for the Greens, they are demanding that more locations be identified - and quickly.

Garching

– There is one on the Munich Schuttberg, also on the other side of the A 99 and soon a wind turbine will also generate electricity between Garching and Eching.

But that's not all, the Greens are calling for further wind power locations to be identified.

"Something must finally go further!", emphasizes City Councilor Hans-Peter Adolf (Greens).

If one tackles regional production with commitment, the necessary measures must also be taken boldly.

If Adolf looks at the next city council meeting, then "let's slow down again!"

"An area that can hardly be used for anything anyway"

At the end of March, the Greens submitted a corresponding application to expand the land use plan (FNP) to include further concentration areas for wind turbines.

South of the Schleissheim Canal, east of the autobahn near Dirnismaning.

"An area that can hardly be used for anything anyway," says Adolf and demands.

"Now let's finally include this in the FNP and, if necessary, draw up development plans."

Especially since a corresponding report from 2011 identified a potential location for a wind turbine there.

Since last year, efforts by the Ostwind company to build a wind turbine have been taking shape in the north of the city, east of the A9 near Dietersheim.

"The corresponding inclusion in the FNP took place in 2014 at our request," says Adolf.

"But now we have to move on.

And not so hesitantly anymore.

"So we're wasting many months again.

Time we don't have!”

Mayor: Realize a wind turbine on the A9 first

In general, Adolf sees a single wind turbine as not enough to advance the energy transition.

He is annoyed that the Greens' application is to be postponed to the building committee for further discussion from the city council meeting tomorrow, Wednesday.

The administration could have done preliminary work here, which would have helped speed up the application.

For Mayor Dietmar Gruchmann (SPD), the reference to the building committee is a formally correct treatment that does not allow the conclusion that "the administration is insufficiently prepared".

Rather, at the next meeting on April 27, not only will the current approval status for the first wind turbine in the north be reported, but the further expansion of wind power will also be discussed.

"However, we first want to realize the first wind turbine so that we can learn from the procedure and shorten further processes," says Gruchmann.

The first wind turbine is a milestone as to whether "our state government is really serious about a real energy transition and what strategy can be pursued here in the future."
