The Directorate of Culture in Tartous Governorate, in cooperation with the Municipal Council of Dower Sheikh Saad, Al-Andalus Private School and the Life Skills Team, held a diverse artistic celebration, during which 150 families of the martyrs and wounded were honored, in the hall of the Arab Cultural Center in Tartous.

Director of the Cultural Center Mona Asaad said in a statement to SANA that the event comes within the framework of the participatory work and began last Friday, during which several sports and artistic activities and an exhibition of children’s products were held, in which they presented a bouquet of different drawings, a group painting of orphaned children and handicrafts, in addition to the theatrical performance “Umm.” martyr".

The mayor of Dower town, Sheikh Saad Ali Hilweh, considered that the various events and activities that were held in the month of goodness are a confirmation of the idea of ​​teamwork and solidarity of the people of the country.

In turn, the director of Al-Andalus Private School, Dr. Wissam Ismail, drew attention to the importance of social solidarity and the participation of various official bodies and the civil society to be together and side by side with the families of the heroic martyrs and wounded in appreciation of their great sacrifices in order to defend the homeland and the unity of its soil.

Sahar Nesli, Head of the Sports Department at Al-Andalus School, explained that a two-day football league will be held with the participation of six local teams, in which the school won first place, while Dar Al-Aman School for the Children of Martyrs ranked second, adding that the school choir presented a bouquet of patriotic songs at the honoring ceremony today. And heritage, in addition to songs about the mother and a variety of musical pieces.

A number of the families of the martyrs and the wounded pointed to the importance of the benevolent initiatives that were established during the blessed month of Ramadan to confirm the strength of the social fabric of the Syrian people.

The honoring ceremony was attended by the governor of Tartous, lawyer Safwan Abu Saadi, and the Secretary of the Tartous branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, Dr. Muhammad Hussein.
