Actor Johnny Depp wrapped up his testimony Monday in Amber Heard's libel trial in a Fairfax, Virginia, court.

On his fourth day on the stand, Depp was questioned by Heard's attorney, Ben Rottenborn.

He was asked about the audio recordings of his discussions with Heard and if she was the only person for whom his alcohol abuse had been a problem.

"Sir, if anyone had a problem with my drinking, at some point in my life, it was me," Depp replied.

"The only person I've abused in my life is myself."

Depp then remained on the stand for questioning by his attorney, Jessica Meyers.

  • The four keys to Johnny Depp's libel trial against Amber Heard so far

Both Heard and Depp, who met in 2009 and were married from 2015-2016, have accused each other of physical violence during their relationship.

Both deny the other's claims.

The former couple resolved to divorce in August 2016, when they released a joint statement that read in part: "Our relationship was intensely passionate and sometimes volatile, but always bound by love."

The trial, which began on April 11, will last six weeks.

Heard still hasn't testified.

Responding to questions from his lawyer, Depp explained that some of the texts Heard's lawyer presented as evidence were supposed to be "irreverent" or based on Monty Python movies.

Depp said he often responds to a "difficult or unpleasant situation" with humor.

In an effort to defuse disagreements with Heard, Depp testified that he was trying to leave the room or the house.

"No one deserves to live like this," Depp said, describing their relationship nearing its end as "horrible."

Attorney Meyers played a 2016 recording of a conversation between Heard and Depp in which Heard expresses concern about regaining her reputation, following press reports of abuse in their relationship.

"What did you say when Mrs. Heard said, 'Tell the world, Johnny. Tell them, Johnny Depp, me, Johnny Depp, a man, I'm a victim of domestic violence too,'" Meyers asked Depp.

"I said, 'Yes, I am,'" Depp replied.
