The team (Kabrita) for interactive theater sheds light on sensitive societal issues in an attractive representational way, investing the energies and artistic creativity of young people to present the problem through the theater.
The team, which was established years ago, embraces ten university students with different specializations, and chose for its series of theatrical performances the title (Live Broadcast) to present the problem through which the dialogue takes place with the target audience in order to study the impact of everything that is read and heard on the behavior and trends of society.
Areej Saleh, a student of communication engineering at Al-Baath University and founder of the team, indicated in a statement to SANA Youth Bulletin that her community volunteer work 6 years ago prompted her to learn about the interactive theater tool, as it sheds light on societal issues and promotes a culture of dialogue instead of receiving and permanent controversy, pointing out that an initial survey was conducted Among the surrounding youth and friends about issues that concern and affect them, the performances presented at the Cultural Center and Al-Ghassaniya School were selected according to the questionnaire.
Saleh added that the team's first show (live broadcast) included the impact of social media and its negative effects on society, such as bullying and disputes between individuals, while the second show (live broadcast) talked about the negative effects of relationships between family members of the same family and the extent of their impact in creating a gap between children. And the parents, while searching (live broadcasting) about media channels and the way they convey the news according to their orientation, and how we are aware of this difference in transmitting the news without affecting our attitudes negatively.
Ghazal Al-Droubi, an economics graduate and a member of the team, indicated that her passion for acting and appearing on the stage prompted her to join the team with her awareness of the difference between theater and interactive theater because it poses through the acting story real problems and negative phenomena that need to be solved and evaluate behavior and ideas and targets a small audience to ensure the effectiveness of conducting dialogue, pointing out that The interactive theater tool allows the audience to dialogue and express their opinion, as it is an effective tool in a way of positive influence, indirect psychological support and illumination on societal issues.
Hani Ferjani, a mechatronic engineering student, pointed out that his joining the team was initially motivated by entertainment and trying what is new, but he quickly realized the role and importance of the media in communicating certain messages and thus creating a state of collective awareness synonymous with the views and policies of hostile media outlets, especially at the present time, where the danger is increasing. The media and its responsibility to push young people to adopt beliefs and ideas that often follow the agendas of funders or sponsors.
