The lottery for the "Apartment at a Discount" project was launched this morning (Tuesday), in the presence of Housing Minister Zeev Elkin and Justice Minister Gideon Saar.
The lottery will last for several days, during which 10,053 apartments will be raffled off among more than 119,000 registrants, in 31 localities across the country.
The lottery results are expected to be delivered to the winners during the month of May.
The lottery is conducted in a computerized system, managed by a committee and supervised by a certified public accountant.
The results are calculated in a closed lottery room, in the presence of the Supervising Lottery Committee, which also signs the results.

"We are in a historic moment, but this is just the beginning," said Minister Elkin.
"By the end of the year, we will grill another 20,000 apartments every two months in about 150 projects at a significant discount for young couples."
Minister Saar added that "large amounts of residential construction must be flooded with restrictions on prices, and ways must be found to incentivize large-scale urban renewal."
Aviad Friedman, director general of the Ministry of Construction and Housing, said that "starting the lotteries today will change the lives of more than 10,000 families and in the coming year about 20,000 more families will be added."
