They find more than 5,500 migrants in four days in Mexico

A total of 5,688 migrants were found in Mexico in the last four days, according to a statement from the National Migration Institute (INM).

The document adds that most were hidden in places such as safe houses, trailer boxes, cattle trailers and vehicle compartments.

All, in overcrowded conditions, without water or food.

Another group was found crossing the desert or on the edge of roads, and some had injuries or had been robbed.

Of the 5,688 people, 3,645 are men and women of legal age who were traveling alone;

1,163 adults accompanying 680 minors, and 200 were unaccompanied children.

The government entity says that most of the migrants came from Honduras, Cuba, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador and Haiti.

The INM affirms that all the migrants were found in irregular situations in accordance with the provisions of the Mexican Migration Law.

After being treated by the immigration agency, some left the country immediately, since their documents had expired.

Others were transferred to immigration stations where they will be processed, while those who arrived in family groups were placed at the disposal of the National System for the Integral Development of the Family.
