The flames spread, three fire brigades moved in.
Aschheim
– Fire investigators must first determine what caused the fire.
Bitumen may have caught fire during roofing work, according to the press office of the police headquarters.
Three fire brigades in action
The fire brigade operations center brought together forces from the volunteer fire brigades in Aschheim, Dornach and Feldkirchen to fight the fire in Lantpertstrasse.
New houses are currently being built there.
The fire was out by 1:50 p.m.
However, the follow-up work dragged on well into the afternoon.
Firefighters have to remove roof tiles
The flames had also spread significantly to the roof battens, requiring roof tiles to be removed from a larger area in search of embers.
Several barrels were deployed or on standby for internal and external attacks.
The amount of damage has not yet been determined
The Munich-Land ABC train and the district fire inspection were also on site.
Aschheim's commander, Florian Gebauer, was in charge.
The police cannot yet provide any information on the extent of the damage - but it should be significant.
