Head of the Cultural Center in Baniyas, Khaled Haidar, indicated that the celebration comes within the framework of the Ministry of Culture's interest in heritage as an identity that must be preserved and passed on to new generations.
Hassan Ismail, a researcher in heritage and a member of the Regional Committee for the Revival of Heritage, presented traditional songs with the young woman Yara Mualla, accompanied by playing the lute, “Umm Al-Zulf, Yamshel, Our Green Mountain, Yamdaq my cousin. People used to chant it on the Syrian New Year’s Day, which runs from the beginning of April to the tenth. from him.
He pointed out the link between Syrian heritage songs and our civilization, such as the Umm al-Zalf song, which is considered an icon of heritage because of its connection to Ishtar, the goddess of love and beauty.
The researcher in oral folklore, Nabil Ajamiya, gave a lecture on the songs of spring that accompany the person on his journey from the moment of birth to the moment of departure. about falsehood.
Young woman Yara Mualla, participating for the first time in singing, expressed the importance of this meeting to restore the roots of our ancestors and our heritage and to return to the Syrian cultural heritage.
