"It's the last meal of the condemned": as the reshuffle approaches, the ministers pack their boxes

Here is a Council of Ministers which should have a funny taste for its participants, Thursday, April 28.

First for its paradox.

It is most certainly the last of the government of Jean Castex before his resignation… but the first of Emmanuel Macron since his re-election.

Also for the small event that will take place in the wake, in the village hall, once the agenda has been swept away: a lunch buffet, to which they are all invited to mark the end of the 2017-2022 term of office.

"It's going to be strange to find yourself toasting over a drink, when most of us will probably not be there next week", grumbled a minister, lucid about his low chances of re-stacking: "It's is the last meal of the condemned.
