The corona incidence in Germany is again below 900. According to the RKI, there were still more than 140,000 new infections.

A test station burned down in Hesse.

Darmstadt – The nationwide seven-day incidence of new corona infections has fallen below 900 again.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the value on Wednesday morning as 887.6.

It was 909.1 the day before and 688.3 a week ago.

The seven-day incidence quantifies the number of new infections registered per 100,000 inhabitants during this period.

As the RKI further announced on Wednesday, citing data from the health authorities, the number of new infections reported within 24 hours was 141,661, after 136,798 the day before and 198,583 a week ago.

The total number of cases of infection recorded in Germany since the beginning of the corona pandemic has increased to 24,479,055.

According to the RKI, 343 other deaths related to the corona virus were also registered within 24 hours.

The total number of recorded corona deaths in Germany rose to 134,832.

Corona incidence in Germany below 900 again – test station in Hesse is on fire

While the incidence has fallen slightly again, there was excitement in Münster in southern Hesse: On Wednesday night, a corona rapid test container burned there.

Nobody was injured in the fire in the test station in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district, the police said.

According to initial findings, the entire casing of the container caught fire, causing damage of around 10,000 euros.

The police are checking both a technical defect and arson as a possible cause and are looking for witnesses.

It is not the first fire in a Corona rapid test container in southern Hesse.

In Mörfelden-Walldorf, two test containers caught fire on two consecutive nights at the beginning of the month, and a short time later a test container caught fire in Groß-Zimmer.

It was initially unclear whether the fires were related.
