A combination of music and singing formed a special state of joy for children at the Opera House today, during the performance that was held in cooperation between Ghinwa Troupe and Shams Academy Troupe, in celebration of the International Day of Orphans.
An integrated use of songs, display, projection screen and puppet movement, aimed at conveying the concepts of positive values that should be inculcated in children, especially with regard to the importance of preserving nature and paying attention to hygiene.
Dr. Lubana Mushawah, Minister of Culture, indicated that this ceremony is not the first, as the ministry held several celebrations this week in Damascus and other governorates through the Child Culture Directorate and Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts.
Minister Mashouh said: "The aim of the event is to tell our orphaned children that you are the sons of the nation that embraces you with all its institutions, not just through care homes."
Ghinwa Sadiq, representative in the fields related to children and coordinator of the show, pointed out the importance of celebrating the International Orphan Day so that children feel the joy of caring for them and not forgetting them and informing them of the need to believe in themselves and trust their talents and abilities to be active people in society, whatever their social status.
It is noteworthy that Shams Academy is an institution interested in developing, developing and training talented children and youth in the fields of sports and culture at the hands of specialists, in addition to sponsoring many theatrical and cultural performances by Syrian and Arab artists.
