Communication services have returned to 1,200 subscribers in the city of Daraa after an interruption of about two days, after unknown persons sabotaged the communication cables and attempted to steal them near the headquarters of the Cooperative Agricultural Bank in the southeast of the city.
Eng. Ahmed Al-Hariri, head of the Syrian Telecom branch in Daraa, explained to SANA that the branch mobilized all the workshops that worked for long hours yesterday and today to restore communications to subscribers as quickly as possible despite the difficulty of working in the place of the attack due to the lack of space, pointing out that the cut cables were replaced with new ones.
Hariri called for concerted efforts by all to protect the telecommunications sector from infringements in all regions of the province.
Yesterday, unknown persons cut the communication cables near the headquarters of the Agricultural Cooperative Bank in the southeastern side of the city of Daraa and attempted to steal them, causing 1200 telephone lines to go out of service in the eastern neighborhood of Kashef and the industrial area and its surroundings.
