Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Qurai-Ashtiani stressed the need to confront the US hegemony in the world through the establishment of pluralism.
During his meeting in Tehran today with his Chinese counterpart Wei Fenghe, Ashtiani indicated that cooperation between the two countries is important and strategic and affected by the ancient and civilized relations between them, as well as common approaches and stances towards international developments, expressing his hope that these meetings will contribute to improving and deepening the level of relations between the two countries and achieving Peace and security in the region and the world.
Ashtiani stressed the need to confront the US hegemony in the world by enforcing pluralism, and said: "Through interaction and cooperation between independent countries that oppose the approach of exclusivity in the world, it is possible to confront common challenges and security threats."
The Iranian Defense Minister referred to his country's strategic policy in the Gulf region, which is based on establishing domestic and internal security, stressing the need for security talks between the countries of the region.
In turn, the Chinese Defense Minister said that the purpose of his visit to Tehran is to enhance the level of strategic defense cooperation between the two countries, and that his presence with Chinese military officials in Iran shows the strategic importance and deep relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, the two sides criticized the unilateral US measures that led to the spread of insecurity and instability in the world. They also discussed strategies for strengthening and deepening defense and military cooperation between the two countries and developing bilateral cooperation as an effective factor to enhance regional stability and security.
In a related context, the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Muhammad Bagheri, affirmed, when receiving the Chinese Minister of Defense, the development of cooperation between the Iranian and Chinese armed forces in the fields of training, military and security.
Major General Bagheri said in a press statement after the talks between them: "It was agreed to develop bilateral cooperation in the field of maneuvers, exchange of experiences, training issues and other common sectors."
