England's Liverpool beat Spain's Villareal 2-0 in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal on Thursday.

Liverpool of England beat Villareal of Spain 2-0 in the first leg this Thursday in the semifinal of the Champions League.

The "Reds", favorites to win the series, deciphered the yellow bolt of the team led by Unai Emery, who defended well during the first part of the match.

In the complement, the panorama was the same: Villareal enduring the onslaught of Liverpool.

You don't have to look at the heat maps to know that most of the match was played in the areas defended by the "yellow submarine".

Liverpool continued their attack and in the 63rd minute a third goal was disallowed for offside.

The cry of goal from full-back Andrew Robertson was drowned out.

After the substitutions of Trent Alexander-Arnold for Joe Gomez and Luis Díaz for Divock Origi, both in the 81st minute, the game slowed down a bit and Villareal went out looking for a goal that would give them some difference on the overall score.

The second leg of this semifinal will be played on Tuesday, May 3 at 1:00 p.m. (Miami time) at the El Madrigal stadium.

In the other key of the semifinal, played on Tuesday, Manchester City beat Real Madrid 4-3 in an electrifying match.

The next meeting of these teams will be played on Wednesday, May 4 at 1:00 p.m. (Miami time) at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
