The state ceremony to mark Holocaust Martyrs 'and Heroes' Remembrance Day will be held tonight (Wednesday) as every year at Yad Vashem Square, and will begin at 8:00 p.m.
At the ceremony, six beacons will be lit by Holocaust survivors in memory of the six million who were murdered by the Nazis and their aides during World War II.
Another ceremony of the Hartman Institute will be marked this year on the occasion of the war in Ukraine.
The beacons at the state rally will be lit by Zvi Glazer, Olga Kay, Aryeh Shilansky, Rivka-Branca Lissauer, Shaul Spielman and the family of Shmuel Blumenfeld, a Holocaust survivor who has died since he was chosen to light a beacon.
Another ceremony will be held at the Hartman Institute in Jerusalem.
The ceremony is held under the title "Gathering for Holocaust Remembrance Day" on the occasion of the war in Ukraine and will begin at 9:15 PM, and will be broadcast live on the Walla !.
For the first time, the "gathering" at the institute will also be held in new versions around the world - in English, French and Russian.

Tomorrow at 9:30, Knesset Speaker Miki Levy and Bundestag President Barbel Bass will light memorial candles in the Knesset
. At 11:00, the traditional "Everyone has a name" ceremony will be held at the Knesset and at 13:00, the main memorial service will be held at the Yizkor Tent at Yad Vashem.
